Join us for the 39th annual celebration of all things clam in historic and beautiful Essex.  The Festival will feature lots of excellent art and crafts, plentiful fine food and beverages, children's activities and live entertainment throughout the day. If you're a chowder fan, the highlight of the day will be the Clam Chowder Tasting, a competition that pits area restaurants against one another to determine the best chowder on Cape Ann. Local restaurants are expected to serve up their favorite chowder recipes starting at noon and ending about 2 pm.  And if you've never been to Essex, leave time after the festival to treat yourself to their phenomenal array of galleries and antique shops - it's browsing heaven!  

In case of rain, the event will be moved indoors to Essex Elementary School at 12 Story St.
